Student Support Services

The Department of Student Support Services focuses on supporting students throughout their college career and beyond. It helps them plan their studies and guide them through the journey of the curriculum until completion. Upon completion the department further assists students with post-graduation plans and prepares them for the next step after graduation

We welcome all BIBT undergraduates, graduate students and alumni to take advantage of the services the department offers.

 

Services We Provide

Student Advising: Discuss program curriculum and scheduling options. The advisor helps students choose the least challenging options to complete their program of study.

 

Develop Job and Career Skills: The department plans and organizes career workshops and seminars for the benefit of students and alumni. Additionally, assistance in given with resume (or CV) development. Cover letter and interview assistance are also available.

 

Tutorial Services:  Tutorial services are provided to benefit those students who encounter difficulties during their studies. Extra classes are scheduled to help student grasp concepts and principles. Contact the department if you are finding difficulties to join or arrange tutorial classes.

Seminars and Workshops: From time to time the department conducts seminars and workshops on various topics of interest to students. Topics such as budgeting, goal setting, Exam Taking and Math Techniques are some of the topics covered.

 

Search for Internships and Jobs: The Student Support Department uses a network of human resources to locate vacancies and place students in best fit available positions. Students are asked to register with the department and provide the necessary information to facilitate placement.

 

Plan for Graduate and Professional School: All alumni are encouraged to contact student support services for assistance with graduate school admissions. The college has partnered with DeVry University to facilitate seamless transfer into bachelor and masters programs. Persons interested in pursuing programs with DeVry should contact the DeVery Support Office located in Buruca Hall on the BIBT Nassau campus.
